Revoke a token (RFC 7009)#

POST /api/oauth/revoke · Operation ID: oauthRevoke

Purpose and app behavior#

Use on disconnect with the relevant OAuth token and registered client authentication. Revoking a refresh token ends its entire authorization; revoking an access token ends that token. An empty 200 also covers already-invalid tokens. Clear your local cached user data and credentials according to the disconnect action.
A refresh token revokes the whole authorization; an access token only itself. Always 200 for a valid client.

Authentication#

Registered OAuth client authentication (confidential) or client_id with PKCE (public); not a personal bearer API key.

Example request#

Replace all REPLACE_* placeholders and environment values with data for your authorized test account. Use a new UUID in IDEMPOTENCY_KEY for each logical action where shown; use the actual latest revision for If-Match. Examples of writes change real data if run.

This example is for a public client. A confidential client must additionally authenticate using its client ID and secret (HTTP Basic or client_secret in the form).
