Classroom live socket — README

Use live editing when a selected classroom document needs simultaneous authorised readers/editors. Read Classroom socket specification and the complete shared binary protocol before connecting.
1.
Keep account connection, class selection and document selection explicit.
2.
Obtain live admission with the correct user identity; do not impersonate a student with an administrator token.
3.
Create the binary WebSocket using its room URL and token. Store the token only for the connection lifetime and do not log its URL.
4.
Use the returned role for initial UI state, then follow server status changes. A viewer does not send document writes.
5.
Preserve pending local edits through interruptions and reconcile through Yjs before continuing. Display connection and save uncertainty clearly.
6.
Recheck access on denial. A removed student, revoked grant or expired credential should stop the integration rather than trigger endless retries.

Acceptance checks for your integration#

Use an operator-approved disposable class and non-sensitive text. Confirm teacher/editor changes reach a student/viewer, a viewer write is refused, Unicode offsets round-trip, role downgrade disables editing, reconnect restores state and revoked access ends the session. Check a fresh read after room closure to establish durable persistence.
These checks are guidance for a real integration test; they were not run against live school accounts by this docs task. Protocol fixture tests and a configured host alone do not establish the student sign-in and classroom flow.
