Team live socket — README

Team live document socket — README#

Use a live room when two permitted people edit the same eligible document. Start with Team socket specification notes and the full binary message specification.
1.
Connect a person through the supported API authentication flow and deliberately select the document.
2.
Fetch live admission, respecting plan/policy failures. Disable live editing when it is not allowed.
3.
Create the WebSocket from the returned URL/token. Use binaryType = "arraybuffer", then the documented Yjs/lib0 codec.
4.
Apply server synchronization and awareness through the editor's collaboration model. Honour viewer role and subsequent permission changes.
5.
On transient disconnect, retain local state, get fresh admission, and reconcile. On revoked access, close the room and remove team-specific cached content as appropriate.
The team usage /usage/live endpoint remains an HTTP polling API and must not be passed to WebSocket. A team service token cannot impersonate a member to join a room. Test with two disposable, authorized user identities, including a viewer and a revoked member, before relying on production collaboration behavior.
